The value you refer to is the nodal averaging threshold defined through the
Results->Options dialog box. When producing a line are banded contour plot,
ABAQUS extrapolates the integration point values to the nodes, then averages
the values. If the difference between the individual element contributions
is greater than the threshold, averaging will not be performed (i.e., a
discontinuity is assumed to be present). I don't know if there is any way
of removing the value from the legend (other than suppressing averaging
altogether by using a quilted contour plot).
