Gaah! That should have been
./configure --with-kernel-support --target=arm-linux --host=arm-linux
--build=i686-pc-linux-gnu --prefix=/usr/test

> make install DESTDIR=/u/r2aaju/rootfs

but this seems ok. Also I'd guess you could omit the --target and the
--build arguments.
